Starting salary rate is at Step 1 ($5,183 / month) for full-time positions.  The current full salary range for this position is $5,183 / month - $6,317 / month.


The City of Bellingham is excited to be recruiting for a Technical Support / Applications Support Specialist.


This recruitment process will create a register that will be used to fill anticipated vacancies.  The register will be used to fill part-time or full-time vacancies should they occur.


There is 1 current vacancy:  a full-time position (40 hours per week) with WhatComm Dispatch Center. 

The What-Comm position provides 24/7 support for the What-Comm 911 Communications Center. Position responds to problems experienced in Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), telephone servers and desktop PC's, data base management, desktop data entry and reporting and other software programs supported solely by this position. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs desktop computers, telephones, servers, printers and other peripherals. Acts as LAN administrator for E-911 adding and deleting users form the network including adding and deleting from the CAD System and network Police, Fire, Deputy Sheriff users of Mobile CAD or Status Screen devices.  Maintains membership in several national and international user groups and attends State and International conferences for new 911 technology.  Serves as Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) coordinator for Whatcom County.  Coordinates projects from development to coordination of installation, testing and training.  Some duties may require working beneath false flooring to pull cable.
