Basket Auction to raise $ for the Sunshine Fund
Hello!
My name is Karen Crawford, and I am your East side ambassador for Washington state APCO. Our annual state conference is coming up on October 17th – 20th and we hope you will be there. As in previous years, some of the fun includes our gift basket auction and we need everyone’s help! Please consider donating a basket to auction off at the conference. All proceeds will go to our newly established Sunshine fund. The fund honors our very dear Molly Elliot, who passed away just over a year ago. Molly was heavily involved in our chapter and these auction baskets were one of the many volunteer activities that Molly helped with. Here is what we need you to do:
- Spread the word: Grab your teams biggest cheer leader and ask that they organize your agency’s auction basket. You can have a themed basket, make it a contest, and see what shift donates the most items. Or, have each shift create their own basket and have a friendly competition to see whose basket is the best. However, you do it, it is up to you!
- Your basket can be small, it can be big, it can be HUGE! You can have one basket, you can have several, just please write an inventory of items that are in your basket and attach it to it. Please also put the value of the basket on there too. Alcohol is allowed but has to be sealed, so be sure to wrap your basket in plastic wrap or I can do it for you!
- Email me to let me know your agency is participating so I have an idea of how many baskets to expect. I will then send you an inventory sheet to make it easier for you to list the contents of your basket and value.
- Bring your basket with you to the Washington APCO conference in October! Can’t get it there? Contact me and I will see how I can help!
- Bid away on other baskets, or your own! And remember, the proceeds are going to a great cause, and we thank you!
Time is flying by and we only have a few months so talk it up, send an email to your staff and help us support our own local chapter.
