Meet The Candidate – Mary Sue Robey
Voting for three positions on the WA APCO-NENA Chapter Executive Board begins September 4, 2022, and ends at 5 pm on October 4th. As part of the election process, we will publish candidate biographies.
Mary Sue Robey (incumbent) is running for West Side Ambassador.
I am truly humbled to have served as your Westside Ambassador for the past few years and excited to have been nominated for the upcoming open position of Westside Ambassador for the Washington State APCO-NENA Chapter. As the existing Westside Ambassador, I have attended all Executive Board meetings and have been ready to do whatever is needed. I am eager to stay involved at the Board level carrying on the mission of our Chapter. With COVID somewhat behind us, I will work with our Eastside Ambassador to work towards increasing our membership and helping those that would like to be more involved within our chapter to do so. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to me.
I have worked in public safety for the past 25.5 years on the administration side: working in finance, accreditation and risk management – currently serving as the Administrative Services Manager. I have been a member of APCO for the past 14 years where I have earned the designation of Senior Member. I serve at the national level on the Member Chapter Services Committee and Awards Committee. I chaired the APCO CALEA Committee and Awards Committee as well as served on a few national APCO Task forces. I served 1 year as a Group Leader for APCO working with the Awards, CEAC, Editorial, and PDEC committees and 4 years as the Chair of the Group Leaders. At the state level I currently serve as the Westside Ambassador on the Executive Board, as well as chairing along with the Eastside Ambassador the Engagement Committee. I served as Co-Chair for the Washington State APCO-NENA Summer Conference for 3 years (2013, 14 & 15) as well as working on the WRC committee and continue to serve on the State Conference committee. I achieved my RPL (Registered Public Safety Leader) certification in 2011 and have been a CALEA Assessor since 2013.
I would appreciate your yes vote for Mary Sue Robey, Westside Ambassador for the Washington State APCO-NENA Chapter.
