Cyber Incident Response Planning: Preparing for the inevitable

The public safety sector is constantly under attack. Law enforcement is focused on protecting the public, but what happens when law enforcement is the target? This session will focus on preparing public safety leadership on how to respond in the midst of a cyber event and discuss policies and prevention practices to help protect those who protect us.

Mike Folia, Vice President- Operations. Mike Folia joined Goserco as the Vice President of Operations in December of 2022. Prior to joining Goserco, Mike worked for nearly 18 years in public safety communications. He was introduced to dispatching while working as security for the Irvine Spectrum in Southern California. From there, he became a dispatcher for Benton County Emergency Services in Washington state. In 2008, Mike lateralled to the Peoria Police Department, in Arizona, where he continued to develop his career. In 2011, he was promoted to supervisor at the age of 24. He earned the Arizona APCO/NENA Supervisor of the Year award in 2016. In September 2016, Mike became the Police Communications Manager for the Avondale Police Department, in Arizona. In addition to his time in Avondale Police Communications, the Chief of Police selected Mike to complete a detailed assessment of the Park Ranger program and served as the interim Assistant Director which oversaw areas including Communications, Detention, Park Rangers, Animal Control, hiring, and training. Mike is passionate about public safety and serving the community.
