Peer Support Team’s for 911: How to create a team, best practices, and lessons learned

In this course you will learn basic terminology, rules, and best practices of peer support teams for 911. You will better understand the difference of confidentiality and privileged communication from a legal stance and learn the difference between CISM (Critical Incident Stress & Management), CISD (Critical Incident Stress Debrief), and more informal daily stress debriefs. This course is meant to give a foundational understanding of peer support teams. , Presented by Jami Hoppen, King Co 911. Class Location: Classroom EF.

Jami Hoppen started NORCOM 911’s Peer Support Team in 2016 and was the team leader for five years. With almost 20 years’ experience in public safety, Jami has participated in multiple Critical Incident Stress Debriefs (CISDs) and one on one and small group peer meetings
