TERT: From Deployment to Demob

Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (TERT) is a program designed to augment communications resources and Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) in times of disaster. This session will look at TERT from its creation at the State Level to deployment of personnel to demobilization. It will discuss best practices for PSAP leadership in the planning of deploying and/or receiving TERT personnel, and give an overview of deployed members can expect., Presented by George Long, Kittcomm. Class Location: Classroom B.

George Long currently serves as the Washington TERT State Coordinator and Co-Chair’s the National Joint Initiative TERT (NJTI) committee. He also holds a master’s degree in Emergency and Disaster Management and a second Master’s in National Security Studies. George has presented at several state, regional and national level conferences on disaster and NG9-1-1 related topics. After many years as a volunteer in disaster communications, George also helped to establish the TERT program in Oregon.
