Yoga for First Responders—It’s more than just touching your toes!

October 5, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm PDT

In this course, we will review the original intention of yoga and work to combat the common misconceptions that currently surround yoga that often make it a barrier to those who may benefit from it the most. In order to do this, we will utilize the Mission Statement and proven path created by Yoga for First Responders., Presented by Carly Swanson & Maggie Eastman, SouthSound911 . Class Location: Classroom EF.

Maggie has worked as a Telecommunicator at South Sound 911 for 12 years and has been in the public safety industry for 16 years. Through her own health journey, Maggie discovered yoga and meditation. Carly Swanson is currently a Communications Center Manager for South Sound 911 and has worked in public safety for 12 years. Carly reaped the benefits of a self-practice and always wondered how she could get others to see past the stigma of yoga so they too could benefit. Both Carly Swanson and Maggie Eastman are Level 2 Instructors for Yoga for First Responder. To become Level 2 Instructors, they attended a 60-hour Instructor School in Castle Rock, CO in June of 2022, as well as completed an additional 20 hours of certification requirements once returning home.
